Julio M. Reyes, 80, of Cashion, passed away on March 28, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley – Sun City of natural causes. He was born on December 7, 1931 in Alamo, Texas to Severiano and Concepcion Reyes Sr. Julio moved to Arizona in 1949, and worked as a truck driver, meat cutter for Swift Meats, and retired as a dock worker for a local food processing company. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church of Cashion where he was always searching for more for his faith. Julio was a devoted and energetic family man.

Julio is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Reyes. He is survived by his daughters, Graviela (Ralph) Cota, Anita Reyes, Grace (Frank) Gutierrez, and Maricela Flores; his sons, Julio Reyes Jr, Jaime (Athlea) Reyes, Javier (Kathy) Reyes and Adrian (Stacy) Reyes; his sister Paulina Solis; his brothers, Tony Reyes, Luciano Reyes, and Felice Reyes; 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held Monday, April 2 at 10:00am at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00am also at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father Mario Garcia.  Interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.

  2. Tata: I remember when you would always tell me to be strong even when life was at its worst. You thought me to the young man I am today,even without my biological father you stepped up and filled in that role. Although we are family, times have changed and the only thing missing now is you and my beloved grandmother. May the both of you rest in peace to the fullest.

  3. Tata: I remember all those stories you always told me while living here with you, and to tell you that always made my day. You were a strong loving man that i would look up to. you were the one to help raise us when needed. I thank you for all that you have done for us. I Will Always and FOREVER Have you In my HEART! i know you will always be right beside me like my Nana, and brothers.. LOVe You Tata May you rest in peace.
