Julio M. Reyes, 80, of Cashion, passed away on March 28, 2012 at Hospice of the Valley – Sun City of natural causes. He was born on December 7, 1931 in Alamo, Texas to Severiano and Concepcion Reyes Sr. Julio moved to Arizona in 1949, and worked as a truck driver, meat cutter for Swift Meats, and retired as a dock worker for a local food processing company. He was a member of St. Williams Catholic Church of Cashion where he was always searching for more for his faith. Julio was a devoted and energetic family man.
Julio is preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Gloria Reyes. He is survived by his daughters, Graviela (Ralph) Cota, Anita Reyes, Grace (Frank) Gutierrez, and Maricela Flores; his sons, Julio Reyes Jr, Jaime (Athlea) Reyes, Javier (Kathy) Reyes and Adrian (Stacy) Reyes; his sister Paulina Solis; his brothers, Tony Reyes, Luciano Reyes, and Felice Reyes; 28 grandchildren, 50 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held Monday, April 2 at 10:00am at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale. A Funeral Service will follow the visitation starting at 11:00am also at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, officiated by Father Mario Garcia.Interment will follow the service at Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.
