Anita Romero, 98, of Avondale, passed away on November 19th, 2016. Anita was born May 23, 1918 in Flagstaff, AZ.

She was an active volunteer at the Avondale senior center.

She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lydia Arausa; three sons, Eddie, Ernie and David Romero.

She is survived by one son, Richard Vergara; three daughters, Maria Connie Botello, Celia Gonzales and Flora Tercero; twenty-one grand-children, forty-eight great-grand-children and also five great-great-grand-children.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2016 from 5:00pm-8:00pm, at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale. A service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2016 at 10:00am, also at Avenidas Funeral Chapel.  She will be laid to rest at Greenwood Memory Lawn Cemetery, located at 2300 West Van Buren Street in Phoenix, with a procession following the service.
