Aurelio "Larry" Valdez passed away peacefully on September 27th, 2015, in Avondale. He was born September 29th, 1929 in El Paso, TX to Aurelio Valdez Sr. and Librada Valdez (Borunda). He married his true love Jennie (Sanchez) Valdez in 1948 and together they had four children. Larry was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He was an amazing dancer and loved to dance. He was quick witted, strong willed, and loved to play jokes on everyone. Larry loved watching sports on television especially baseball and basketball. He never missed an Arizona Diamondbacks game or a Phoenix Suns game. His boisterous sense of humor and contagious smile will be forever missed by all who knew him, especially his family. 

 

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 67 years, Jennie Valdez, his children Mike (Joann) Valdez, Gloria (Henry) Quinonez, Helen Lopez and Charles Valdez. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren  and 7 great-great grandchildren. 

 

A memorial service will be held Friday, October 2, 10:00am at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale.
