Christina Lucille Valdez, 61, of Phoenix, was brought to us
November 12, 1950 in Pueblo, Colorado. This is when her journey began. She was
many things, a daughter, a sister, at one time a wife, and of course a mother
and grandmother. She was also very giving, and self-sacrificial. When she loved,
it was whole heartedly. Mother left an imprint on many lives, through her
volunteer work and contributions to her community, but the biggest imprint she
left on us was her strength. She endured so much throughout life, things that many
of us could not have, especially when it came to her health. But she never gave
up, and she never lost faith in her God, who she worshipped and loved so
dearly. Even in her final breaths, she fought fiercely and held on, because she
loved us so much, but it was time for her to rest, and she deserved it. She
will never be forgotten and forever missed and loved.
Christina is survived by her daughters, Trisha Almada Dazey
and Veronica Lopez; her sisters, Dorothy Valdez, Patty Valdez, and Norma
Valdez; her brothers, Mike Valdez, Frank Valdez, and Ralph Valdez; and also 3
grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held for Christina on Friday, May
25 at 11:00am at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Old Town Avondale, with Rev. John
Moreno officiating.
