Ruth Emma Gingras, 75, of Goodyear, passed away at Hospice of the Valley, Palm Valley on February 14, 2012.  She was born August 31, 1936 in Springfield, Massachusetts and moved to Arizona in approximately 1973. Ruth was very proud of her many years of self-obtained sobriety and involvement in Alcoholics Anonymous.  She had recently celebrated her 25 years of sobriety, and received her chip for this accomplishment.

She is survived by her son, Thomas Willliam Gingras, his wife Josie, granddaughter Ashlee, along with her brother Tom Lyon and her sister Irene Henegar.

A service will be held Saturday, February 18 at 6:00pm at Desert Springs Community Church East Campus located at 447 South Old Litchfield Road in Litchfield Park, officiated by Pastor Steve Engram.

  1. Mom, I can not tell you how much I miss you already, but I am also so happy that you can breathe again!! No more tubes, tanks, puffers, medicine or anything else. You are NEW AGAIN momma!! I am so happy that you are there waiting for us and can already hear you telling us..... "I'll be here....". :) I love you momma, and you will always be here with us, until that blessed day that we are reunited.....

    We are so sorry for your loss Tom. We can all take some comfort in knowing that Ruthie is in a better place and happy with all she brought into this life. Her faith and strength have been an inspiration to all who knew Ruthie; she will be fondly thought of and missed. Rest in peace dear friend, our thoughts and prayers are with you.

  11. Ruthie has always been generous to our family, and I have nothing but positive thoughts about her and great childhood memories. I actually remember the first time I met her in Pop Warner football. Tom, I am sorry for your loss, but take comfort in the fact that she made many people's lives more enriching. Sam Thornton III.
