Edith M Baker 70, of Phoenix, AZ passed away September 27, 2011. She was born in Cincinnati, OH on February 26, 1941 to Lonnie Woods and Ada Bingle. Edith was a woman who prided herself in the amount of effort she put in to her job, any job for that matter, and she worked diligently in her profession as a customer service representative. Socially she never gave up on anyone and she could always find and see the best in people regardless of the situation or circumstances. Edith had an open policy and never ever shut that door on anyone. For her, everyone was welcomed at her house, and she enjoyed the most important thing in her life, her family. She was a stern woman quick to let you know that, regardless of the situation, it was either going to be her way or no way, feel free to ask her husband Robert about that.  Her presence kept everyone on their toes, she was a formidable woman. Everyone was aware of the thin line that existed, the line you should never cross with her. Jake Knox knows of this very well.  All in all she will forever be missed by everyone that had the pleasure of knowing her, loving her, or being loved by her in their life.

Edith preceded in death by her parents, Ada and Lonnie. She is survived by her loving husband, Robert Baker; her daughters, Shirley, Ada, Sherry, and Jennifer; her sons, Ron and Bobby; her brothers, Jerry and Bobby; 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held for Edith on Thursday, September 29 from 11:00am-1:00pm at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Avondale.

Please feel free to share your condolences with the family and also your thoughts with friends. Perhaps a short funny moment or cherished time you spent with this loved family member who will sorely be missed and forever remembered.
