Margarita Alaniz, 77, of Avondale, passed away on January 15, 2016 in Avondale.  She was born on February 10, 1938 in El Reno, Oklahoma, and had lived in Arizona for approximately 70 years.  Margarita was a frequent member of the Avondale Senior Center.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Emilio and Maria Alaniz; her adopted parents, Enrique and Guadalupe Tequida; 1 sister, Mary Vasquez; and 3 brothers, Emilio, Rueben, and Ramon Alaniz.  She is survived by 5 nieces, Evangelina, Pebbles, Melissa, Monica, and Rosanne; 3 nephews, Alex, Bobby, and Joey; 7 sisters, Mary, Eleanor, Mary Lou, Josie, Lupe, Terry, Mary Ellen; and also 2 brothers, Ramon and Jesus Manuel.

A visitation will be held on Saturday, January 23 from 10:00am-12:00pm at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale.  Interment will immediately follow at Holy Cross Cemetery located at 10045 West Thomas Road in Avondale.
