Mary Elizabeth Gates, 89, of Avondale, passed away on December 20, 2013 in Goodyear, Arizona.  Mary was born on December 5, 1924 in Brady, Texas to William and Sarah Bates.

 

Mary is survived by 2 daughters, Mary Taylor and Barbara Simmons; 1 son, Wayne Farley; 10 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; and 7 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James K. Gates, Sr.; 1 son, James K. Gates, Jr.; 1 grandson, Bradley Farley; and 1 great-grandson, Nicholas Constanzi.

 

Mary was a member of the Owner Operator Engineers.  She was a great mother, woman, housewife, truck driver who was loved by all.  Mary never met a stranger.
