Maria Magdalena Lopez, 77, of Avondale, passed away August 12, 2013 in Avondale, Arizona.  Maria was born in Litchfield Park, Arizona on August 18, 1935 to Manuel and Ignacia Burrel.

 

Maria is survived by 4 daughters, Mary Ann Lopez, Martina Lopez, Nancy Martinez, and Rosa Lopez; 3 sons, Francisco, Albert, and Efrain Lopez; 1 sister, Dolores Misquez; 37 grandchildren, and 61 great-grandchildren.

 

Maria was a lovable person.  She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed family gatherings.  Her family enjoyed listening to her stories about when she was growing up.  Maria loved to cook and bake.

 

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19, from 5:00pm-8:00pm at Avenidas Funeral Chapel, located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale.  A rosary will be recited at 6:00pm.  A Scripture Service will be held on Tuesday, August 20 at 10:00am, also at Avenidas Funeral Chapel.  Burial will follow the service at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, located at 10045 West Thomas Road in Avondale.  Deacon Jim Cassio will officiate.
