Simona Cruz Gomez, 51, of Cashion, went to be with the Lord on October 23, 2012. Simona was born in Phoenix, Arizona on May 5, 1961, and she was a homemaker. Simona is survived by her daughters, Monique Miller (Cody), and Tamara and Tanya Summers; sons, Francisco Tarango (Domerica), and Santos Gomez; her parents, Ignacio and Genevive Medina; her sisters, Virginia Reyes, Diana Flores, Yolanda Duran, and Aurora Baca; her brothers, Gilbert and Pablo Garcia; and also six grandchildren. Simona was preceded into death by her brother, Santos Gomez.

Simona was a very loving mother, grandmother, and friend.

A visitation will be held on Monday, October 29, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.at Avenidas Funeral Chapel located at 522 East Western Avenue in Old Town Avondale. A Funeral Mass will be said on Tuesday, October 30, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John Vianney Catholic Church located at 539 East La Pasada Boulevard in Goodyear. Burial will immediately follow the Mass at her final resting place in the Louis B. Hazelton Memorial Cemetery in Buckeye.
