Josefina Benitez Juarez, 89, of Avondale, passed away at her home on March 8 of natural causes.  She was born on May 16, 1922 in Guatemala City, Guatemala to Rodolfo Morales and Hercilia Benitez. Josefina was a homemaker and moved to Arizona in 1995.

Josefina was a beautiful woman, kind mother, great grandmother, and the best mother-in-law any man could have.  She was a very accomplished cook and an artist of crocheting along with knitting. Josefina also had a beautiful singing voice and at the age of 87, she became an American citizen, which was a dream come true for her.  But her greatest accomplishment was coming to this great nation sixty-one years ago with her husband, Jose-Luis Juarez, so that her seven children could have the best of life here.

Thank you, and rest in peace, Mother.  We love you and will miss you!

Josefina is survived by her daughters, Stella Juarez Franco, Petra Robles, Hope Clark, Francis De La Cruz, Sara DeMasters, and Naomi Del Pinal; her son, Luis Juarez; 22 grandchildren and 15 great-granchildren.

A Rosary will be recited on Friday, March 16 at 9:00am at St. John Vianney Catholic Church in Goodyear.  A Mass will follow the Rosary at 9:30am, also at St. John Vianney.
