Jesus Manuel Navarro, 52, of Avondale passed away at Palm Valley Rehabilitation Center on July 17, 2011. He was born February 4, 1959 in Phoenix to Manuel and Margarita Navarro.  A man of few words, Jesus (Cheeto) prided himself in the simple things in life that came his way. Be it sitting outside enjoying the sunrise with his mother, watching movies on TV, or fishing for the big ones at Lake Pleasant. It was those things that were of no financial value that were of most importance to Jesus. One of his most enjoyed past times was sitting quietly with a good book. He definitely considered himself "old-school", from his music, the way he treated the ladies, or cruising down Central on a Saturday night. Jesus appreciated his heritage and the way he intertwined it into his simple past times. He definitely like his food, especially his mother's cooking, but of all things, Jesus definitely loved his hamburgers. One his of his other favorites in life was the color blue, a color that was as broad and deep as the ocean, and as vast as the sky. Such a simple color, but can have such a grand meaning that Jesus understood. Jesus spoke to his sister while he was in the hospital, that he wished he could go home. In the wee early hours of Sunday, July 17, the Lord heard his cries, and granted him his simple wish. Bringing him home with open arms, and inviting him to rest.

Jesus is survived by his dearest mother, Margarita F. de Ruiz; his loving son, Adam Navarro; his sisters, Rosa Maria Perez, Susie Flores, Mary Angel Salazar, Maria de Concepcion N. Bandin, and Maria del Pilar Salas; and his brothers, Gregorio Hernandez, Jose Alberto Salas, and Danny Vasquez Jr.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 21 from 5:00-8:00pm at Avenidas Funeral Chapel in Avondale. A rosary will be held during the visitation starting at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 22 at 10:00am at St. Williams Catholic Church in Cashion. Interment will follow the service with funeral escorts to Holy Cross Cemetery in Avondale.
